Synopsis

In 1960s Brooklyn, young David Sabah dreams of a baseball career but faces fierce opposition from his traditional Syrian Jewish family who expect him to the family business and marry within their community. As he navigates the cultural clash between his American dreams and family duty, David must also cope with the devastating impact of mental illness that haunts his family, including his schizophrenic brother locked away upstairs and his rebellious sister who chose freedom over tradition.
